Garrett Matsunaga ’91 Brings New Technology to Hawaii’s Doctors
Dr. Garrett Matsunaga ’91, recently visited Hawaii to introduce a $1.5 million robot named da Vinci to surgeons at Queen’s Medical Center. The robot, which allows doctors to perform less invasive surgeries, can minimize patients’ blood loss, pain, and recovery time. Dr. Kenric Murayama ’76 will be among the first Hawaii-based doctors to use the technology. (Honolulu Star-Bulletin – February 11, 2007)
Kaneshige ’66 Helps Usher In a New Era in Waikiki
Outrigger Hotels Senior Vice-President Mel Kaneshige ’66 recently completed a project years in the making: Waikiki Beach Walk, a $535 million revitalization project that he and others hope will breathe new life into Waikiki and attract more visitors and locals alike. A number of stories appeared in local media outlets as Beach Walk opened in February.

Duke ’02 Making Progress With Real Salt Lake
