For those who have ever asked the question, "Who cheers the cheerleaders?" Monday night at the lower gym was the answer.

Cheerleading competitions have morphed into gymnastics, dance and cheering, with an emphasis on gymnastics.

The competitors were Kamehameha, Punahou, 'Iolani and Christian Academy. There were also exhibitions put on by the combined Intermediate-JV 'Iolani team and the Damien team.

Kamehameha won the competition, with Punahou second, 'Iolani third and Christian Academy fourth. Anyone following the Warriors cheerleading program shouldn't be surprised that they won. The Warriors are really awesome and set the standard for the other schools.

The lack of practice time hurt the crispness of the Raiders' performance, but the level of difficulty is there to successfully compete with Punahou as the execution improves.
