'Iolani Varsity Football Rolls To 48-23 Win Over Pac-5
November 8, 2008
by Al Linsky
Way back on September 19 'Iolani overwhelmed Pac-5, 48-17, at Aloha Stadium. I read in the newspaper that Pac-5 didn't have their best player, intimating that next time would be different, or at least closer.

This time the score was 48-23, in the Raiders' favor, and in my humble opinion, it wasn't even as close as the score.
At one point it was 48-0.
And that was with 3:32 left in the first half.
The lopsided score allowed Coach Look to rest his starters and give some major playing time and game experience to many who do not usually see that much.
Pac-5 did start to control the game somewhat against the reserves, but the outcome of the game was never in doubt.
Touchdowns came from Kellen Imada (2), Trevyn Tulonghari, Greg Lum, Brandon Ball, Breland Almadova and Travis Sato.
Greg Lum's touchdown was a 54 yarder after he picked up a fumble caused by a big hit on P.J. Minaya by Kela Marciel.
My favorite play was an interception by Breland Almadova who made one of the smoothest 69 yard runs I've seen after his interception to bring it back all the way for a touchdown.
Jarrett Arakawa, playing only the first half, was an efficient 9 for 12, 153 yards and no interceptions.
Kellen Imada ran 12 times for 98 yards.
Both Trevyn Tulonghari and Brandon Ball had four receptions for 71 yards and 62 yards, respectively.
Next up is the semi-finals of the HHSAA Division II State Tournament on November 21.
